In 1947 the Senators of the Japanese Professional Baseball League changed their name to the Tokyu Flyers after being bought by the Tokyu Electric Railway. After a 51-65-3 season, they became the Kyuei Flyers for the 1948 season, for a year before taking back the Tokyu name in 1949. As Tokyu, they went 64-73-1. In 1950 they were charter members of the new Pacific League when Japan went to a two-league format. They went 51-69, 38-56-8, 49-59-1 and 50-67-3 over the next four years, finishing sixth in the 7-team league each time. The team changed ownership again prior to the 1954 season and became the Toei Flyers.
