[edit] Biographical Information

Jose Jimenez pitched a no-hitter against the Arizona Diamondbacks on June 25, 1999 in Arizona facing Randy Johnson. Then with the St. Louis Cardinals, Jimenez won 1-0, and then, two starts later, again shut out Johnson and the Diamondbacks in a 1-0 game, this time pitching a two-hitter. However, he went 5-14 overall for the year and was switched to the bullpen after being traded to the Colorado Rockies after the season. He pitched four seasons as the Rockies' closer from 2000 to 2003, peaking with a career-high of 41 saves in 2002, racking up 102 saves overall.

He signed as a free agent with the Cleveland Indians for the 2004 but was shelled: he saved 8 games, but also posted a 1-7 record and a dreadful 8.42 ERA, thanks to 45 hits - 6 of them home runs - and 15 walks allowed in 36.1 innings over 31 appearances. He hasn't been back to the big leagues since.
